PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Ideal Contracting was awarded with the contract for Structural Steel for Buildings AB, C, and DE at the Little Caesars Arena. Building AB and C of the arena are both multi-story buildings consisting of 4 levels each. As part of this project, Ideal Contracting self-performed all the structural/misc steel work. Building AB consisted of approximately 790 tons of structural steel. Building C consisted of approximately 600 tons of structural steel and Building DE was approximately 250 tons of structural steel. Ideal was also responsible for procuring all structural steel for each building. These building were erected in a very tight footprint and act as the south and east exterior walls to the arena.

In addition, Ideal was awarded with the contract to self-perform the Civil and Concrete work for Buildings AB, C, and DE at the Little Caesars Arena. Ideal was responsible for the MEP underground civil work at each building. The scope of work included excavation for electrical duct banks, manholes, handholes, concrete conduit encasement, as well as site light pole bases. Approximately 11,000-cubic-yards of excavation was completed, and 2,100-cubic-yards of concrete placed. By being involved with the civil, u/g MEP, concrete and steel it allowed Ideal Contracting to have full control of the work area and coordinated all disciplines to meet the difficult schedule requirements of the project. At peak manpower, Ideal Contracting has had approximately 75 craft workers on site with approximately 55 of those being Ironworkers. The project completed on time and with great customer satisfaction.
