Our goal is to have each student participate in the program for roughly three summers. One summer will focus on field experience, working directly on a project site with the Superintendent, Project Engineer and Project Manager. Another summer will consist of experience in the main office including estimating and accounting. In the final summer the student will have a choice to gain additional experience in the field or office with greater responsibilities. The expectation for each year will increase, ensuring the students have meaningful work experiences.
Our goal is that the students have an understanding of the office and field environments prior to graduation. This includes profit & loss, human resources, overhead, marketing, etc. With this, supervisors are encouraged to include their interns in various meetings, helping them better understand the business as a whole.
This program continues to give college students real-life experience in the construction industry. Not only is this a paid program, but it also includes a variety of training programs, activities and networking events for students including:
Ultimately, the goal of any student program is to provide a meaningful experience to enhance the value of the student’s classroom education. Through this program, Ideal Contracting has a history of making our students employable. Those who perform well are invited back to the program each summer and continue to build their careers. By the time a student graduates, he or she will have experiences and exposure from several aspects in the construction industry that typically take years to gain.
We will continue to recruit the highest quality students from the top Universities in the area. Be ready to “Build Your Career” with us! Interested in internship opportunities, email us today at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Interning with Ideal Contracting, this summer has been an awesome learning experience. Everyone at Ideal family has been a pleasure to work with. I wish every college student could have a internship like the one I had.– Steven Sinn Jr.
I loved how structured and organized the BuildU internship program was, as many of my friends who interned with other companies said that they often felt confused or left out. This was never the case for me. My mentors and coworkers were great at making sure I was constantly learning, seeing, or doing something new. The experience that I gained with Ideal is invaluable; I couldn’t have asked for a better internship.– Chris Kuenzer
Ideal Contracting is a great place to be employed, everyone there is is very friendly, helpful, and wants to see you succeed!– Michael Alberda
